LES Lighter Set in Gentileschi Green

The LES Lighter Set is a green lighter set that makes lighting up feel like the most considered part of your sesh. Which, with this set, it genuinely is.

Who It's For

The smoker who wants every light to be as pure and polished as the rest of their ritual.

The Manhattan Match Striker

An abstract sculptural ode to the female form and your official excuse to never touch a butane lighter again. Strike your match on the plate underneath, or go rogue with strike-anywhere matches on the unglazed base. Two ways to light up, both of them better than whatever you were doing before. Approximately 2.13" high x 1.25" diameter. Includes color-coordinated safety matches and a replacement striking plate.

The Horatio Hemp Wick Holder

As elegant as a French macaron and considerably more useful during your sesh. The holder keeps your sticky hemp wick neat, contained, and ready to go so you're not wrestling with it when you actually need it. Hemp wick burns at a lower temperature than butane, which means a slower, more controlled light, an even burn, and none of the chemical accelerants that have no business being in your hit. Approximately 1" high x 2" diameter. Includes 10' of organic European hemp finished with organic local beeswax sourced in Florida from our friends at Latinx-owned Handmade by Hippies.

Using the Set

Strike your match on the plate underneath the striker. Use the lit match to ignite your hemp wick. Then use the wick to light your smoke low and slow, exactly the way it deserves to be lit. No butane, no chemicals, no shortcuts. Just a clean, considered light from start to finish. Two small objects, one very good habit. Each piece is handcrafted, so slight glaze variations are part of the deal. No two are exactly alike.

Color Story

This green is called Gentileschi Green, named for 17th-century Italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi. She was one of the most gifted artists of her era, survived more than most people are asked to endure, and still built a celebrated career with royal and church patrons across Europe. The world took a few centuries to fully recognize how good she was. This color has her energy: grounded, alive, and not asking permission. It's one of 9 colors the LES Lighter Set comes in.

Care

Both pieces are made from stoneware with a food-safe glaze. Hand wash only.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do match strikers work?

Our Manhattan Match Striker gives you 2 ways to get lit, depending on your style. Our holder comes loaded with safety matches, which are the most widely available type and can only be ignited against a phosphorus surface. To light safety matches, strike them against the phosphorus dot on the bottom of our holder. Or, if you prefer to use strike-anywhere matches, light those by striking them against the unglazed surface at the bottom of our holder. Either way, you have a chic, functional lighter alternative.

How do I replace the phosphorus striking plate?

When the original striking plate wears down on our Manhattan Match Striker, simply peel it off and clean off any glue residue from the surface. Then peel and stick the included replacement plate into place. This quick swap will keep your match striker looking and functioning like new.

Why should you use a hemp wick instead of just matches or a lighter?

Hemp wick is a cleaner, more mindful way to light your blend. Standard matches contain phosphorus and most lighters run on butane. So, you don’t want to inhale those chemicals every time you light up. Hemp wick also burns at a significantly lower temperature than either of them. A lower burn temp allows for more precise lighting and a more even, efficient burn. That way, you’re not wasting your blend by burning it up before you can smoke it. How do you use this green lighter set?

It’s so easy! Just unwrap a little of the wick. Then, strike a safety match against the plate on the bottom of the ceramic holder. Use the match to light the hemp wick. Wait for the flame to burn for a few seconds to get rid of any chemicals. Then, use it to light your blend. When you’re done, simply press the beeswax-covered wick end back onto the holder. Or watch this video to see exactly how to light up using a hemp wick.

What happens when you run out of hemp wick?

We got you! First, the 10 feet of hemp on our wick holder should last you quite a while. But, when you do run out, here’s what to do. Just buy some replacement wick, thread it through the tiny hole in the middle of our holder and tie the part inside the holder into a knot. Voilá! Wrap your new wick around your holder, and you’re good to go.
